News: The heady mix of music in Cocktail.

Tuning into the musical concoction of ‘Cocktail’. If the music of a film makes it to chartbuster lists before it even releases, half of a producer’s job is done. And in the case of “Cocktail”, producer Dinesh Vijan seems to be experiencing the same kind of high. His film, a fresh, youthful entertainer, which marks Saif Ali Khan’s comeback as a lover boy and also features Deepika Padukone in a smouldering new look, has received a good response for its music. Following the first two chart-thumpers, “Tumhi Ho Bandhu” and “Daru Desi”, the recently released track “Yaariyaan” too has become quite popular in a short while.

Pritam has created the tracks of “Cocktail“, and having worked earlier with the team on “Love Aaj Kal” and “Agent Vinod“, Vijan says that the music composer from the beginning knew the kind of music they wanted. “Although the film, set in London, is about modern characters, the basic emotions are Indian. So, the soundtrack is essentially folk in flavour. But, we have also incorporated rock and electronic sounds,” he explains, adding that the folk influences have worked for them.
