As part of ongoing investigation in Indian Premier League (IPL) season two, Enforcement Directorate questioned Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) owner SRK on Saturday for about 6 hours. SRK was quizzed on his investments, the share holding patterns of KKR and money flow in the franchise. Apparently SRK was asked to explain the sources of money used for various expenses of the organization. The ED and income tax departments are investigating investments into various IPL teams by franchise owners and share holders. They are specifically looking at information that significant investments in IPL teams were routed from tax haven countries. In April last year, Enforcement Directorate had registered a case under Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) against Lalit Modi. Cricket Ravi Shastri was also questioned by ED last year in connection with these investigations.
Hopefully SRK will come our unscathed in these investigations and will continue to entertain his millions of fans!
